BIOGRAPHY
There must be something in the water in Northern Ontario…… it seems to have produced another “star in the making”. Bearing the sunny smile and uncomplicated optimism of a hometown beauty queen, Tracy Chamberlain is a proverbial breath of fresh air in the crowded country music landscape. Best known for her genuinely powerful voice and compelling performances, it’s no surprise that people are starting to sit up and take notice.
To date Tracy’s career trajectory has been on the rise, as evidenced by her string of wins at various singing competitions all across Canada. She is two-time winner of the North Bay Heritage Festival in North Bay ON, as well as a provincial finalist in the 2004 Project. In 2005 Tracy was also the winner of the BCCMA Talent Search….the event where award-winning producer Tom McKillip first heard her, and was so intrigued by her incredible range and warm, melting tone that he invited her into the studio, and a new project was born.
Tracy is finding more and more opportunities to connect with her rapidly growing audience - she has toured with Prairie Oyster and The Cruzeros on a number of BC dates and she has been the opening act for Aaron Lines and Rick Tippe. At the 2007 Merritt Walk of Stars Gala the audience was mesmerized by Tracy’s compelling performance, which prompted an invitation to the 2008 show. Upon her return to the gala in 2008, Johnny Reid approached Tracy to join him on tour. In 2007 Tracy was nominated for the “Horizon Award” at the BCCMA’s and after yet another amazing performance, Tracy received the only standing ovation of the evening.
It is no wonder how this amazing vocalist placed first in the 2007 BC Talent Search, then followed up with five appearances at the Merritt Mountain Music Festival. With her debut recording project now well in the works, it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the country music industry knows what her fans already know – that this is a talent to be reckoned with. From the last breathtaking notes of the poignant “Blessed Are The Brokenhearted”, to the tongue-in-cheek swagger of “On Your Way Out”, she has tapped into the universal themes of love, loss and life. This dark haired beauty has been one of country music’s best kept secrets….but not for long. A fresh new talent – a singer’s singer – Tracy Chamberlain will take you on a journey with every performance, and always leave you wanting more.
